On behalf of the Tournament Committee and staff, please accept our warmest welcome to the 2013 1854 Ross & Smith Invitational! This is a unique event combining the R&S with the 1854 in a year where Wissahickon will be restored so we appreciate your participation.
Please take a moment to review your assigned starting times, course assignments and hole assignments for each of the 5 nine-hole matches. The match schedule is included with your information packet and will also be posted in conspicuous areas throughout the facilities.
The Tournament Committee asks that all participants, regardless of your course assignment, park at the Wissahickon clubhouse at all times. Tee gifts and hats (if ordered) have been placed in your locker. Locker assignments are posted in the locker room and our staff will help guide you to them. In a change from past years, the cash pool entry fee of $200/team has been included in the overall entry fee billed to each member for the event.
In addition to 3 nine-hole matches on Friday, we’ll also have several other special events for the field to enjoy. A team Skins Game and Net/Gross Par 3 will be contested during play. We’ll also have a Shootout, Driving Competition, Putting Contest, and even some new twists! Qualifying for the Putting Contest will begin prior to dinner (at approximately 6pm) with the finals being held under the lights on #18 green at approximately 9:30pm.
A shotgun start at 8:30am will initiate Round 4 on Saturday. Participants will prepare for the 5th nine-hole match at approximately noon, at which time a final shotgun will take place.
The Grand Champions playoff (to involve all flight winners) will begin immediately after all scores are posted at the Wissahickon scoring area (terrace). Tournament participants are encouraged to stay for the excitement as we crown the 2013 Champions. Prizes are again plentiful this year, including significant ‘spoiler prizes’ on Day 2, so those teams that may not have played up to their ability on Day 1 will have plenty of incentive to rebound on Saturday!
